Opted for a Balsam vs a Frasir this year-not sure why-,won't do it again, I like the Frasir "staying power" and the softness when you touch them, especially when they are fresh. Our tree is drinking ton's of water too, could fill it 2 times a day. Seems like a lot of needles are falling off, but it's OK. We have not had a lot of fires in the fire place, the tree sits next to the fire place, sure that help dry it out. Recipe for tree preservative (not sure it helps but I like thinking it does: 1 t bleach (keeps water fresh) 1 t sugar (feeds the tree) and 1 t lemon juice (not sure what that does) to 1 gallon of water - have used this for many years.

Yeah. One year we opted for what I think was a balsam (long needles?). I get them mixed up. Short needles let the decorations hang better. Part of me wants to hang more stuff on this year but eh? It looks pretty allright
